Though the Rockets were contenders during the 2008-09 year, it looks unlikely that they will do the same during the 2009-10 season. With Yao Ming out, the Rockets virtually have no interior defense. In addition to that, Ron Artest has been traded to the Lakers for the less talented Trevor Ariza. Without their two top scorers, it is unlikely they will compete in the tough NBA West. Even though they still have Shane Battier and Trevor Ariza, they are nothing more that two 3-point shooters. T-Mac's back, but him being so injury prone, he could as easily be on the bench again. Good news for the Jazz right? One less to team to deal with!
